DoggyTales is a progressive dog training company that was
created to help breakdown the communication barriers between
man and his best friend. Through positive training and rehabilitation,
Joshua’s goal is to inspire a social awareness that will
help decrsease the excessive amounts of dogs that are euthanized
in our neighborhoods everyday. Currently, DoggyTales is
working with the shelter systems all over Northern New Jersey
and New York City to help diagnose and rehabilitate lost
dogs to help increase their chances of becoming more adoptable.
Joshua is constantly exchanging ideas and philosophies with
behaviorists that are trained in all schools of thought.
As philosophies and methodologies evolve, Joshua will continue
to challenge himself and the dog community by advancing
his education and awareness.
DoggyTales
only utilizes positive training methods, such as luring,
capturing, and shaping. Joshua is a balanced trainer that
employs a creative and holistic approach to training and
rehabilitation. Through benevolent leadership and a positive
reward system Joshua creates practical training programs
that cater to fit the dog and owner’s individual lifestyle
and circumstance. Positive reinforcement (the dog works
for something it desires), and negative punishment (removing
something good as punishment) will make training an exciting
experience for both dog and owner.
DoggyTales
services the entire North Jersey area. All sessions will
primarily be done at the owner’s home. This is where most
behavior problems begin. If they are not remedied at the
source, the behavior will digress and become generalized
to all environments and circumstances. Most problem behaviors
are self-rewarding, which means the more the dog has the
opportunity to misbehave the more the behavior is reinforced.
The best way to extinguish an undesirable behavior is to
create and manage an environment where they can be prevented.
The only environment that can be controlled absolutely is
the home. The dogs home provides a familiar and stress free
environment that will help facilitate learning and rehabilitation.

Dog Of the Month |
MAYA
Originally when I met the 4 year old red-nosed Pitbull
Maya from Room From one More in North Jersey she
was extremely aggressive towards people and other
dogs.
She
was unmanageable and intolerant, and it took very
little to set her off; this was due to the fact
that she was bred for fighting in Camden, NJ.
